SAP Systems Specialist (SAP S/4HANA)

We are seeking a highly skilled SAP Implementation Expert / SAP Systems Specialist to support the implementation and ongoing management of SAP S/4HANA.
This role will serve as the primary point of reference for the SAP implementation, ensuring alignment among all project stakeholders. The successful candidate will work closely with business users, colleagues in Italy, and external vendors to coordinate activities, gather and translate business requirements, and ensure clear and effective communication throughout the project.
The SAP Systems Specialist will monitor implementation progress, proactively resolve issues, and ensure that SAP solutions meet business requirements and project timelines. The role will also be responsible for ensuring alignment between SAP and legacy systems and coordinating with third-party providers responsible for managing those systems.
Key Responsibilities1. Core ResponsibilitiesConfigure and maintain SAP systems and modules.
Monitor system performance and troubleshoot system-related issues.
Support SAP implementation, upgrades, enhancements, and ongoing improvements.
Provide technical and functional support to end users.
Manage user accounts, roles, and authorizations.
Analyze business requirements and translate them into appropriate SAP solutions.
Design, implement, and maintain an integrated ERP system supporting end-to-end business processes, including, among others, Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, and Manufacturing / Production processes .
Configure ERP modules to support production planning, materials management, inventory control, costing, and production execution.
Ensure ERP configuration aligns with business requirements, operational processes, and manufacturing best practices.
Support master data governance for materials, BOMs, routings, work centers, vendors, and customers, ensuring consistency and data quality across business processes.
Collaborate with Italian business, IT, and ERP teams to transfer existing ERP process templates, system configurations, and operational models from Italy to the local site.
Analyze legacy ERP implementations and business processes from the Italian site and adapt them to local organizational and regulatory requirements.
Manage ERP configuration alignment, data migration, and validation to ensure process continuity and functional equivalence.
Document end-to-end process flows, ERP configuration settings, and functional specifications transferred from the Italy site.
Define and support interfaces between ERP and MES for real-time production feedback, traceability, and reporting.
Ensure alignment between ERP production planning and MES shop-floor execution.
Support production-related KPIs, efficiency monitoring, and traceability requirements through ERP–MES integration.
Act as a key link among business users, manufacturing teams, IT, and external system integrators.
Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), integration testing, and end-to-end validation of ERP and MES processes.
Identify system and process improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency, data accuracy, and operational stability.
Provide functional support during go-live and post-go-live stabilization phases.
Prepare and maintain functional documentation, system configuration guides, and process procedures.
Support training activities for key users and operational teams on SAP processes.
Contribute to governance activities, including change management, transport validation, and release planning.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering , or a related field.
5+ years of proven experience in SAP implementation as PM.
Experience in SAP System Support or SAP Administration .
Hands-on experience with technology transfer projects .
Knowledge of and exposure to data migration, ETL processes, and API development/integration using REST and SOAP .
Languages: SQL
ERP: Strong SAP knowledge, particularly in one or more of the following modules:
Materials Management (MM)
Sales and Distribution (SD)
Financial Accounting (FI)
Production Planning (PP)
Controlling (CO)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills .
Excellent cross-cultural communication skills .
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, greenfield startup environment .
Detail-oriented, with strong documentation and organizational skills .
Ability to coordinate effectively across business, technical, and external vendor teams.
English: Fluent in written and spoken English — mandatory for technical and project communication with Italian counterparts.
