Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior ServiceNow Platform Administrator to join our IT Operations and Foundation team at Chevron. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in ServiceNow platform administration, engineering, security, performance optimization, and system integrations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring platform stability, reliability, scalability, and security across production and non-production environments while collaborating with developers and cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer, configure, and maintain ServiceNow instances, applications, and modules.

• Manage user accounts, groups, roles, administrative controls, and access control lists (ACLs).

• Monitor platform performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement performance-tuning measures.

• Plan and execute ServiceNow platform upgrades and maintenance activities.

• Ensure platform security, system hardening, data integrity, and compliance with security standards.

• Implement and manage Single Sign-On (SSO) solutions using SAML and OpenID Connect (OIDC).

• Develop and maintain integrations between ServiceNow and external systems, including Microsoft Entra ID, endpoint management, security platforms, and observability tools.

• Validate technical designs and integration requirements to ensure reliable data exchange between systems.

• Provide technical guidance and configuration support to developers.

• Optimize ServiceNow instance and database performance using advanced tuning techniques.

• Follow ServiceNow ITIL processes and best practices.

• Collaborate with product teams and stakeholders to improve platform capabilities and operational efficiency.

• Stay updated on emerging technologies, platform features, and industry best practices.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years of relevant hands-on experience in ServiceNow administration or platform engineering.

• Proven expertise in ServiceNow instance administration, maintenance, upgrades, performance monitoring, and tuning.

• Strong experience in platform security, system hardening, technical design, and integration implementation.

• Hands-on experience implementing SSO using SAML and OIDC.

• Experience integrating ServiceNow with Microsoft Entra ID and other enterprise systems.

• Knowledge of Java or similar object-oriented programming languages.

• Understanding of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, and design patterns.

• Strong knowledge of ServiceNow ITIL processes and best practices.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure fundamentals and Azure DevOps.

• Knowledge of the SAFe Agile framework is preferred.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

• Ability to work independently and manage technical initiatives effectively.
