Virtual Wellness Companion

Key Responsibilities:

Emotional & Social Engagement

• Conduct scheduled virtual companionship sessions with elderly residents.
  

• Engage residents in meaningful conversations that promote emotional well-being and cognitive stimulation.
  

• Provide consistent social presence for residents experiencing loneliness or isolation.
  

• Connect/ Schedule sessions with families
  

Behavioral Awareness

• Recognize and appropriately respond to confusion, agitation, anxiety, or erratic behaviors.
  

• Use psychological communication techniques to de-escalate stressful conversations.
  

• Maintain calm and supportive interactions with residents who may have memory challenges or mood fluctuations.
  

Cognitive & Social Stimulation

• Facilitate light conversation exercises, storytelling, memory discussions, or daily life reflections.
  

• Encourage residents to share experiences, memories, and personal stories.
  

• Support cognitive engagement through dialogue and social interaction.
  

Documentation & Observations

• Maintain structured notes regarding resident mood, engagement levels, and behavioral observations.
  

• Report unusual behavioral patterns or concerns to supervisors when appropriate. 
  

• Tracking productivity real time.
  

Requirements

Education Requirements

• Open to undergraduate or graduate-level candidates currently pursuing or holding a degree in Psychology, Behavioral Science, Guidance Counseling, or closely related fields.
  

• Candidates must have completed foundational coursework in psychology or behavioral studies (e.g., abnormal psychology, developmental psychology, counseling, or behavioral analysis).
  

Skills & Competencies

• Exceptional spoken English
  

• Strong emotional intelligence and empathy
  

• Ability to remain calm and composed during unpredictable conversations
  

• Strong active listening skills
  

• Ability to build rapport with elderly individuals from diverse backgrounds
  

• Mature communication style and professional demeanor.
