Liaison Compliance Officer

Qualifications Educational Background: - Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies, Marine Transportation, Marine Engineering, Business Administration, or Legal/Compliance-related fields. Experience:

• At least 2–5 years experience in shipping, maritime operations, or regulatory compliance.
• Experience dealing with government agencies (e.g., MARINA, Philippine Coast Guard, Bureau of Customs) is a strong advantage.

Certifications (preferred but not always required):

• Basic Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH).
• ISM Code / ISPS Code training.
• Compliance or audit-related certifications.

Skills Required:

• Strong knowledge of maritime laws, regulations, and documentation.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.
• Attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
• Problem-solving and negotiation skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information.

Technical Skills:

• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, email correspondence).
• Familiarity with maritime documentation systems.

Other Requirements:

• Willing to travel to ports and government offices.
• Good moral character and professional integrity.

Key Responsibilities 1. Regulatory Compliance Ensure company operations comply with maritime laws and regulations Monitor updates from authorities such as MARINA and implement required changes 2. Liaison Work Act as the primary point of contact between the company and government agencies Process permits, licenses, and clearances with agencies like Philippine Ports Authority and Bureau of Customs 3. Documentation Management Prepare, submit, and track compliance documents (vessel registration, crew documents, cargo permits, etc.) Ensure all records are updated and properly filed 4. Inspection and Audit Coordination Assist during vessel inspections and compliance audits Coordinate with inspectors from Philippine Coast Guard 5. Internal Coordination Work closely with operations, HR, and fleet teams to ensure compliance requirements are met Advise management on compliance risks and solutions 6. Reporting Prepare compliance reports and status updates for management Report any violations or risks and recommend corrective actions
