Role Description

This is an entry-level role for someone who wants to build a strong foundation in accounting and finance operations . You'll gain hands-on exposure to general accounting, Accounts Payable (AP), and Accounts Receivable (AR) across our operations in Singapore and the Philippines.

You can expect to:

• Process Accounts Payable transactions, including reviewing bills, receipts, reimbursements, and other supporting documents for completeness, accuracy, and proper approval.
• Support Accounts Receivable processes, including preparing invoices, recording customer transactions, and assisting with monitoring and collections.
• Record financial transactions and journal entries accurately and on time in Xero.
• Prepare account schedules and perform reconciliations to ensure accounting records are complete and accurate.
• Maintain organized, audit-ready documentation and help investigate and resolve discrepancies in financial records.
• Support month-end close activities and follow the team's review and approval processes

You won't be expected to know all of this on Day 1. We're looking for someone with a solid foundation in accounting, strong attention to detail, and, most importantly, the ability to learn quickly .

Requirements

Fresh graduates are welcome to apply. Prior full-time accounting experience is not required.

We're looking for someone who:

• Has a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or another relevant field with sufficient accounting coursework.
• Understands basic accounting concepts such as debits and credits, journal entries, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable.
• Is detail-oriented, accurate, and organized.
• Communicates clearly in writing and verbally, and is comfortable working with colleagues across different teams and countries.
• Is comfortable working with spreadsheets and eager to learn accounting systems such as Xero.
• Is proactive, willing to ask questions and learn from feedback, and takes responsibility for their work.
• Is willing to work from our Bonifacio Global City office in line with Thinking Machines' hybrid working arrangements.

High preference for candidates that have:

• Completed internships, coursework, student organization work, or other projects involving accounting, bookkeeping, finance, or business operations
• Familiarity with Xero or another accounting system
• Strong spreadsheet skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets
