Job Summary
The Accounting Supervisor/Manager is responsible for overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining internal controls, and supervising accounting staff. This role plays a key part in month-end close, compliance, audits, and financial analysis to support business decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Reporting & Close Process
- Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes
- Prepare and review financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP/IFRS and company policies
- Perform account reconciliations and review journal entries
2. General Accounting Operations
- Manage accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and general ledger
- Monitor cash flow and banking transactions
- Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules
- Ensure timely tax filings (VAT, sales tax, payroll tax, etc.)
3. Supervision & Team Management
- Supervise, train, and mentor accounting staff
- Review work for accuracy and completeness
- Assign tasks and monitor deadlines
- Conduct performance evaluations
4. Internal Controls & Compliance
- Maintain and improve internal accounting controls
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Support internal and external audits
- Develop and document accounting procedures
5. Budgeting & Financial Analysis
- Assist in budget preparation and forecasting
- Analyze variances and provide management reports
- Support strategic financial planning
6. Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting systems and processes
- Implement automation where possible
- Support ERP/system upgrades and integrations
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 1–3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial reporting
- Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software/ERP systems
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Good communication and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
