Data Scientist I identifies business trends and problems through complex big data analysis. Interprets results from multiple sources using a variety of techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation via statistical analysis to complex data mining independently. Being a Data Scientist I designs, develops and implements the most valuable business solutions for the organization. Prepares big data, implements data models and develops database to support the business solutions. Additionally, Data Scientist I may require an advanced degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Data Scientist I work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. To be a Data Scientist I typically requires 0-2 years of related experience.

Our company is looking for a Data Scientist to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Prototyping new predictive models and products with a philosophy of quick turnaround and failing fast;
  • Documenting and general maintenance of predictive models and products;
  • Effective communication and presentation to clients and internal stakeholders;
  • Interactions with various stakeholders to understand business needs;
  • Collaboration in agile teams to design, implement and deploy end to end data science solutions;
  • Ensure high quality results (statistical and technical) for the deliverable of the Innovation Hub;
  • Guide and mentor junior team members;
  • Flexibility to support hands-on data engineering and data cleansing activities where needed;
  • Prepare reports from customer data;
  • Reveal hidden business opportunities, quantify risks, and optimally deploy company resources to grow profitably;
  • Assist with setup of data science model development framework;
  • Create analytical, statistical and machine learning models;
  • Design, implement, and validate data systems and solutions;
  • Engineer IT solutions based on appropriate models;
  • Develop data models and algorithms for data preparation, exploration, mining and modelling.

Requirements:

  • IT Degree;
  • Python, Java, Scala, R;
  • Experience in custom vision analytic by using Microsoft Azure, Google Vision, Amazon Rekgnition or etc is added advantage;
  • BSc Actuarial Science;
  • Experience in Machine Learning, Big Data and AI;
  • Nice to have knowledge of TensorFlow / Keras;
  • Good presentation skills;
  • Interpersonal skills;
  • Proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint;
  • R, SAS, ETL, Tableau, Python;
  • Min 5 years’ experience managing/leading a team;
  • CSS;
  • Automotive R&D experience a big plus;
  • Passion for research;
  • Nice to have knowledge of Business Intelligence tools (at least one of those: Spotfire, Business Objects, Qlick View, Tableaux, OBIEE).
