- An Investigator is responsible for conducting thorough research, gathering evidence, and analyzing information to uncover facts related to legal, financial, criminal, or corporate matters. The role varies depending on the industry but typically includes surveillance, interviews, and report writing.
- Conduct investigations related to criminal, corporate, financial, insurance fraud, or legal matters.
- Gather and analyze evidence through surveillance, interviews, background checks, and data analysis.
- Prepare detailed reports and documentation of findings.
- Work closely with law enforcement, legal teams, or private clients.
- Testify in court or legal proceedings when necessary.
- Maintain confidentiality and ensure ethical investigative practices.
- Use technology and databases to track and verify information.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent observation and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and handle confidential information.
- Proficiency in investigative tools and technology.
- Knowledge of laws and regulations related to investigations.
- Experience in law enforcement, military, intelligence, or private investigations (preferred).
- A degree in criminal justice, forensic science, or a related field (optional but beneficial).
- Licensing requirements vary by state/country.
