Software Engineer - Lending & Savings (Contractors)

As a Software Engineer in the Lending & Savings team , you will be responsible for building and optimizing the Lending and Savings processes at Blockchain.com . Your work will ensure that customers can seamlessly and securely access our platform while meeting regulatory and compliance requirements . You will collaborate with engineering, marketing, and product teams to create a scalable, reliable, and efficient Lending & Savings experience .

This role requires a strong problem-solving mindset , and the ability to build systems that are both secure and user-friendly . You will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of our Savings and Lending Products, ensuring high availability, low latency, and optimal user experience.

What You Will Do

Technical Execution & Engineering Excellence

• Design, develop, and maintain the ****platform, ensuring that your contributions follows the standards and guidelines set by Blockchain.com
• Write high-quality, maintainable, and efficient code while upholding best practices in software development.
• Contribute to the observability and monitoring of our services, leveraging tools to improve system performance and debugging capabilities.
• Work closely with our marketing teams to ensure requirements are met while maintaining a seamless user experience including experiments together with A/B testing.
• Improve our Lending and Savings products ensuring that it remains secure and efficient .
• Collaborate with backend and frontend engineers to enhance the end-to-end Lending and Savings experience.
• Contribute to technical architecture discussions , ensuring that design choices align with both business goals and system performance .

Collaboration & Cross-Functional Impact

• Work closely with engineering, product, and marketing teams to enhance our growth objectives
• Participate in code reviews , receptive to constructive feedback to maintain code quality and consistency .
• Partner with infrastructure teams to improve deployment processes, ensuring high availability and resilience .

Continuous Improvement & Innovation

• Optimize our Lending and Savings funnels to enhance our user experience .
• Identify and resolve issues to ensure a seemless Lending and Savings processes.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and contribute to process improvements that enhance engineering effectiveness.

What You Will Need

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in JVM languages (Kotlin, Java), Kafka and PostgresSQL
• An understanding of event driven distributed systems, APIs, and microservices architectures .
• Knowledge of observability and monitoring tools to maintain system reliability and performance .
• Familiarity with security best practices , particularly in KYC, fraud detection, and compliance systems .
• Experience with SQL (Postgres) and NoSQL databases (Redis) , ensuring optimal data storage and retrieval for KYC processes.

Collaboration & Communication

• Ability to work cross-functionally with Marketing, Product, and Engineering teams to enhance Lending and Savings product.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills, ensuring quick incident resolution and system improvements .
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills , ensuring technical discussions are clear and productive .

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in fintech, crypto, or other highly regulated industries .
• Prior work on Credit and Savings Products.
