- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in painting, especially in residential or commercial settings.
- Knowledge of various painting techniques, materials, and tools.
- Ability to prepare surfaces for painting (sanding, priming, cleaning).
- Knowledge of safety procedures for handling paints, chemicals, and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and finishing quality.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions (for outdoor jobs).
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods, kneel, or climb ladders.
- Good communication skills.
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, or priming as needed.
- Mix and apply paints, varnishes, and other finishes to surfaces using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
- Ensure smooth and even application of paint or coatings, with a focus on quality and precision.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good condition, ensuring proper use and care.
- Protect surrounding areas from paint splatters using drop cloths, tape, and plastic sheeting.
- Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to safety standards and proper handling of materials.
- Perform touch-ups or refinishing on surfaces as required.
- Work with other contractors (e.g., carpenters or electricians) to coordinate project requirements and timelines.
- Keep work areas clean and dispose of paint-related waste in an environmentally responsible manner.
- Ensure customer satisfaction with completed painting projects.
