AU General Ledger Accountant - Onsite in Cebu City

The accounting role is essentially a general ledger accounting role. The role requires good understanding of the basic accounting principles, cost centres, job costing, attention to detail and commercial judgment.

Key responsibilities

1. Posting Sales invoices to the ledgers

Check sales invoices created by the other teams for:

• Review and validate sales invoices, including debtor codes, cost centres/job types, GST codes, accounting dates, billed amounts, and revenue sub-codes.
• Process invoices in multiple currencies (AUD, USD, and EUR), ensuring accurate exchange rates are applied in line with company policy.
• Post sales invoices in accordance with Australian GST requirements and the company's revenue accrual policy.

2. Posting Creditors invoices to the ledgers

Check creditors transactions created by the other teams for:

• Review and validate creditor invoices, including creditor codes, cost centres/job types, GST codes, approved amounts, and applicable sub-codes.
• Process invoices in multiple currencies (AUD, USD, EUR, NZD, CAD, and SGD), ensuring accurate exchange rates are applied.
• Post creditor invoices accurately in accordance with Australian GST requirements and company accounting policies.

3. Creditors payment run – Weekly payment run for local creditors (AUD) – pass accounting entries for approved payments

4. Reconcile Creditors statements – monthly

5. Reconcile prepayments accounts – monthly – book journals to expense prepayments

6. General Ledger reconciliations – Monthly – to reconcile intra group accounts

7. Email statements to the Debtors – monthly

8. Payment follow-up with storage clients – overdue invoices

9. Prepare customised reports using Excel by exporting data using Moveware Reports

10. Storage invoicing run – quarterly invoicing for long term storage clients

Qualifications :

• Graduate qualification in Accounting or a related field.
• 2–3 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), accrual accounting, cost centre accounting, and job costing.
• Experience handling foreign currency transactions and their accounting treatment.
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, data analysis, and Pivot Tables.
• Willing to work onsite in Cebu City, Monday to Friday.

• Reliable laptop/desktop (with at least one backup device)
• Noise-cancelling headset (for interviews and meetings)
• Stable internet connection with a backup (minimum 100 Mbps
