AU General Ledger Accountant - Onsite in Cebu City

The accounting role is essentially a general ledger accounting role.  The role requires good understanding of the basic accounting principles, cost centres, job costing, attention to detail and commercial judgment.

Key responsibilities:

Posting Sales invoices to the ledgers:

• Check sales invoices created by the other teams for:
  • Debtors code – separate accounts to book invoices in different currencies (AUD, USD, EUR)
  • Cost Centre / Job Types 
  • GST Code – as per the Australian GST Rules
  • Accounting date – as per the revenue accrual policy of OSS
  • Amount billed as per the quote accepted by the client
  • Sub codes for the revenue items billed on the invoice
  • Exchange rate to be applied to book the invoices in currency other than AUD

• Post sales invoices after applying all checks as above

  Posting Creditors invoices to the ledgers:

• Check creditors transactions created by the other teams for:
  • Creditors Code – separate accounts to book invoices in different currencies
  • Cost Centre / Job types
  • GST Code – as per the Australian GST Rules
  • Amount approved
  • Currency (AUD, USD, EUR, NZD, CAD, SGD)
  • Sub codes for the cost depending on type of service / goods received
  • Exchange rate to be applied for to book the invoices in currency other than AUD

• Post Creditors invoices after applying all checks as above

Creditors payment run – Weekly payment run for local creditors (AUD) – pass accounting entries for approved payments

Reconcile Creditors statements – monthly

Reconcile prepayments accounts – monthly – book journals to expense prepayments

General Ledger reconciliations – Monthly – to reconcile intra group accounts

Email statements to the Debtors – monthly

Payment follow-up with storage clients – overdue invoices

Prepare customised reports using Excel by exporting data using Moveware Reports

Storage invoicing run – quarterly invoicing for long term storage clients

Qualifications :

• Accounting knowledge – post graduate level
• Experience - 2-3 years
• Good knowledge and understanding of generally accepted accounting principles, accrual accounting, cost centres and job costing
• Familiar with foreign currency transactions and its accounting.
• Intermediate level of Excel skills, data analysis using Excel formulas and Pivot Tables.
• Willing to work onsite in Cebu City, Monday - Friday

Technical Requirements (Independent Contractor Role)

• Reliable laptop/desktop (with at least one backup device)
• Noise-cancelling headset (for interviews and meetings)
• Stable internet connection with a backup (minimum 100 Mbps
