Pharmacy Assistant / Pharmacy Staff
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service: Greet and assist customers, answer inquiries about medications, and provide guidance under the supervision of a pharmacist
- Medication Management: Assist in dispensing prescription medications, prepare and label medications, ensure proper storage, and check for expired products
- Inventory Control: Organize and maintain inventory, restock shelves, and notify pharmacists of stock shortages or expired items
- Administrative Duties: Operate the cash register, process payments, maintain patient records, and ensure confidentiality of patient information
- Communication: Clearly communicate with patients to ensure understanding of medications, usage instructions, and potential interactions
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional coursework in pharmacy or related fields is a plus
- Customer Service Skills: Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals
- Attention to Detail: Ability to accurately handle prescriptions and maintain organized records
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with pharmacy software and basic computer applications
