About The Job Quality Manager About the role The role of the Quality Manager is to formulate, implement and facilitate quality assurance plans and programs throughout the organisation to ensure achievement of company’s quality objectives and customer satisfaction. The Quality Manager oversees and promotes compliance of the company’s quality system with customer requirements and ISO standards while driving and facilitating continuous improvement. Key objectives & responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Ensure Quality Objectives are in place for measuring the performance of the QMS.
- Communicate, support constant pursuit of excellence and continuous improvement to achieve Quality objectives.
- Take lead on QMS External Audit and Certification
- Ensure implementation of QMS related activities and Internal Audit Program according to planned schedules.
- Ensure compliance with customer requirements, quality policy, standards, procedures, programs, and practices
- Ensure adequacy, suitability, and effectiveness of implemented QMS to meet quality objectives of the company
- Ensure strategic/business risks are identified, analysed, evaluated, and documented
- Manage and maintain quality inspection and control programs for processes, components, and finished product
- Ensure processes and procedures are established and maintained for vessel construction and inspections
- Sustain high levels of staff development and morale
- Implement succession plans for key roles
- Responsible for the overall skill set of the department and ensures that all development programs are in place
- Responsible for the overall Performance Management Program of the Department
- Promote a strong culture of teamwork, both within and Inter-departmental
- Graduate of Engineering or any management-related courses
- Minimum of 5 years QA/QC leadership/managerial role in a shipbuilding construction or similar industry
- Minimum of 5 years QMS Auditor experience in an ISO 9001 certified company
- Excellent data analysis and reporting skills
- Strong critical thinking, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledgeable in continuous improvement techniques like Lean, Six Sigma etc.
- Effective communication skills both written and oral
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Application (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Well-versed in new shipbuilding construction, operations & processes, preferably Aluminium shipbuilding
- Preferably with experienced in Class Survey and familiar with statutory requirements for new shipbuilding
- With relevant Quality certifications

- Copy of Diploma and/or bachelor's degree (whichever is applicable)
