Engineer, IAM Developer

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a motivated Junior to Mid-Level ServiceNow & Fullstack Developer to join our growing engineering team. In this unique role, you will bridge the gap between enterprise platform automation and custom application development. You will build, optimize, and support features across both modern ServiceNow instances and custom fullstack services using modern Groovy, Java, Python, JavaScript, or Vue.js environments.

You will focus heavily on writing highly maintainable code and leveraging strong analytical skills to break down system issues across the entire stack. You will collaborate in an Agile / Scrum environment and work closely with senior engineers to level up your technical skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• ServiceNow Platform Development : Design, configure, and customize core ServiceNow applications, IT Service Management (ITSM) modules, Service Portals, and automated workflows using Client Scripts, Business Rules, UI Actions, and Flow Designer.
• End-to-End Custom Feature Development : Write, test, and maintain robust client-side interfaces using Vue.js alongside scalable server-side systems using modern runtimes (e.g., Java 17+ / Spring Boot , Python 3.10+ / Flask , or Groovy ).
• Cross-Platform API Design & Integration : Design, document, and consume secure contract-first RESTful or GraphQL endpoints to seamlessly connect ServiceNow architectures, backend frameworks, and enterprise platforms.
• UI/UX Design & Prototyping : Design intuitive user interfaces, wireframes, and interactive prototypes using tools such as Figma , Microsoft Copilot , or similar design platforms.
• State & Logic Management : Implement clean application state management workflows (e.g., Pinia, Vuex) and write efficient modern JavaScript (ES6+) or TypeScript .
• System Analysis & Troubleshooting : Apply critical analytical skills to investigate fullstack production bugs, analyze performance bottlenecks (both server-side latency and client-side layout shifts), and trace distributed data anomalies across integrated platforms.
• Jira & Agile Documentation : Analyze technical requirements and proactively write, structure, and update Jira tasks with clear descriptions, acceptance criteria, and specific technical sub-tasks for both frontend and backend tasks.
• Code Quality & Testing : Write clean, automated unit tests across the entire stack (using frameworks like JUnit for backend or Vitest/Jest for frontend) to maximize code coverage and ensure production stability.
• Software Design & Secure Coding : Apply core design principles (e.g., SOLID, DRY) and implement fundamental defense-in-depth security principles across endpoints by validating inputs, managing environment secrets, and adhering to OWASP standards.
• Database Management : Query, design, and interact with specific production storage setups including Relational (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB, Redis) databases.
• Collaborative Code Management : Cooperate on shared application configurations, monorepos, or repository linkages using standardized branching policies to guarantee disruption-free release cycles.
• Agile Collaboration : Participate actively in daily Scrum standups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospective sessions.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION

• ServiceNow Engineering Fundamentals: Practical knowledge or hands-on exposure scripting within the ServiceNow platform (JavaScript, Glide API, Service Portal widgets, and integration hooks).
• Backend & Frontend Core Frameworks: Practical engineering experience building web services using modern Java (Spring / Spring Boot) or Python (Flask), coupled with experience building interactive user interfaces with Vue.js (or strong foundational logic in React) and modern JavaScript / HTML5 / CSS3 (Sass).
• Analytical Thinking: Strong ability to dissect complex visual layouts, analyze database schemas, and troubleshoot logic errors systematically across the full application stack.
• Database Ecosystems: Familiarity with managing and querying specific databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or Redis.
• Testing & Design: Strong foundational understanding of automated unit testing frameworks (both backend and frontend) and fundamental software design principles (modular component architecture, separation of concerns).
• Agile Mindset & Workflow Tools: Clear experience or understanding of Agile frameworks, Scrum methodologies, and workflow tracking using Jira and Confluence to author actionable, highly descriptive tickets.
• Core Engineering: Deep familiarity with Git version control tools and clear comfort navigating standard Linux command-line environments.
• Education/Experience: Degree in Computer Science (or a related field) with 2–4 years of professional software development experience.

Stand Out from the Crowd: While the following skills are entirely optional, practical experience or deep familiarity with modern AI utilities is a massive plus and will give your application a significant competitive advantage:

• ServiceNow Certifications : Possession of ServiceNow certifications such as Certified System Administrator (CSA) or Certified Application Developer (CAD).
• Identity Management Exposure: Basic understanding or practical exposure to enterprise Identity Management ( IDM ) concepts, data mapping and system connectors.
• AI Tools & Optimization: Active use of developer tools to write, optimize, or document backend logic efficiently.
• AI Integration: Personal, academic, or professional projects utilizing modern AI APIs or building client-side chat interfaces.
• DevOps Basics: Exposure with infrastructure utilities like Jenkins (CI/CD pipelines), Nginx (reverse proxies), or Docker containers.
