Vice President, Category Manager - HR Benefits - APAC & EMEA, Global Supplier Services

As a Vice President, Category Manager – HR Benefits - APAC & EMEA (Vice President) in Global Supplier Services, you lead strategic sourcing and supplier management for employee benefits and related HR services across APAC and EMEA. Reporting to the Executive Director, you partner closely with global category leadership and HR benefits stakeholders to execute category strategy, run competitive sourcing events, and negotiate commercial terms. You build strong governance and influence across a matrixed environment to deliver measurable value across cost, service, resiliency, and innovation. You also strengthen supplier performance management and third-party risk oversight while aligning to applicable regulatory and control requirements across diverse markets.

You’ll work within a global sourcing and supplier services organization that partners with functional stakeholders to deliver well-governed, market-informed sourcing decisions. The team operates through a mix of regional ownership and global alignment, enabling cross-region leverage while respecting local requirements and market conditions.

Job responsibilities

• Execute regional category plans aligned to the global HR benefits category strategy across APAC and EMEA
• Build and maintain a multi-year sourcing roadmap covering renewals, competitive bids, consolidation opportunities, and transformation initiatives
• Identify cross-region leverage opportunities (standardization, preferred suppliers, rate harmonization, and service model alignment) while respecting local requirements
• Lead end-to-end competitive sourcing events, including requirements definition, evaluation criteria, scoring governance, and award recommendations
• Develop negotiation strategies and negotiate pricing, service levels, implementation commitments, and commercial protections (including indexing, caps, termination rights, and audit rights)
• Partner with Legal and internal control stakeholders to support contract drafting/redlining and ensure approvals, documentation, and sourcing controls are met
• Establish supplier performance frameworks using service level agreements (SLAs), key performance indicators (KPIs), quarterly business reviews (QBRs), scorecards, and continuous improvement plans
• Drive supplier issue resolution and escalations through root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and sustained performance improvements
• Deliver total cost of ownership analysis, benchmarking, and value tracking, and provide clear reporting on pipeline, progress, risks, and dependencies
• Ensure supplier engagements meet third-party risk expectations, including data privacy and operational resiliency requirements relevant to benefits vendors
• Coach and guide sourcing team members and coordinate with global sourcing and vendor management partners to support efficient delivery

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
• Minimum 8 years of experience in strategic sourcing, category management, procurement, or vendor management with multi-country scope
• Demonstrated experience leading complex negotiations and competitive sourcing events with senior stakeholders
• Ability to run Request for Information (RFI), Request for Proposal (RFP), and Request for Quotation (RFQ) processes with clear governance, evaluation, and decision documentation
• Strong commercial and analytical skills, including cost modeling, benchmarking, contract commercial terms, and value tracking
• Proven experience partnering with Legal to draft, amend, and negotiate complex master agreements and service level agreements
• Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a matrixed, global environment and influence without direct authority
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including executive-ready materials and decision facilitation
• Ability to manage work across APAC and EMEA time zones with strong prioritization and program management skills
• Working knowledge of third-party risk management and supplier due diligence expectations (including data privacy and operational resiliency)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (including advanced Excel) and sourcing/procurement tools (e.g., Ariba)

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• HR services and employee benefits sourcing experience (e.g., brokers/consultants, benefits administration platforms, wellbeing vendors, and insurance-related services)
• Experience working in a highly regulated, large-scale global organization with strong controls
• Professional certification (e.g., Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM))
• Experience designing supplier segmentation strategies and building innovation pipelines with strategic suppliers
• Experience leading contract remediation and portfolio-wide commercial improvement initiatives
• Fluent English is required and confidence in communicating with stakeholders
