- A retail cashier is responsible for handling customer transactions, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining an efficient checkout process.
Education:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is usually required. Some positions may accept candidates with a basic level of education.
Experience:
- Previous experience in customer service or retail is preferred but not always required, especially for entry-level positions.
Skills:
- Basic math skills for processing transactions and providing accurate change.
- Strong communication and customer service skills to interact with customers effectively.
- Ability to operate a cash register, point-of-sale (POS) systems, and other payment processing equipment.
- Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in transactions and to handle money correctly.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.

- Patience and problem-solving abilities for handling customer inquiries or issues.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy hours.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift moderate weights (e.g., bags of merchandise).
