Social Media Specialist & Executive Assistant

This is a remote position.

Rockstar is hiring a full-time Executive Assistant & Social Media Virtual Assistant on behalf of a fast-growing virtual HR consulting firm. This role is primarily focused on social media ownership, with executive assistant support rounding out the rest of the role, roughly a 60/40 split. On the social media side, the VA will build and execute strategic marketing plans, manage a consistent content and posting cadence, monitor key KPIs, and help grow and engage the company's online community. On the administrative side, the VA will support the team with light scheduling and travel coordination, document creation, report pulling, and organizing and formatting notes and other materials. This is not a role for someone who waits to be told what to do next. The company has grown rapidly and needs someone nimble who can move quickly, anticipate needs, and think a few steps ahead without constant direction.

This VA will primarily support one team member day-to-day but will also work across the wider team. Comfort with AI tools, especially Claude, is expected, not optional, since the company is actively building AI-assisted workflows into how the team operates.

About the Client

This is a virtual HR consulting firm supporting a wide range of clients across the country, including therapy clinics, legal support firms, schools, engineering firms, construction companies, and more, entirely built on referrals with zero paid marketing. The company has tripled in size over the past year and a half and is actively formalizing its systems and team structure to support that growth.

The team is fully remote and distributed, with team members based in different states. They move fast, value autonomy paired with strong communication, and are looking for someone who can keep pace with a high-energy, multitasking style without needing heavy oversight.

Key Responsibilities

Social Media & Content

• Build and execute strategic marketing plans, seeing them through to completion
• Own social media content creation and manage a consistent posting cadence across channels
• Monitor key KPIs to ensure content and campaigns are effective
• Build and foster online communities and audience engagement
• Stay current on social media trends, platform updates, and best practices
• Create graphic posts using Canva
• Use AI tools (including Claude) to support content creation and planning efficiently

Executive Assistant Support

• Handle light scheduling and travel coordination
• Create and format documents, including policy drafts and other internal materials
• Anticipate needs proactively and prepare materials in advance where possible
• Pull reports from internal platforms and adjust employee settings within HR systems
• Organize and format phone screen notes for hiring managers
• Support general organizing, filing, and administrative tasks across the team as needed

Tools & Systems

• Claude (AI workflows)
• Canva
• HR platforms (Paylocity, Gusto, BambooHR, etc.)
• Google Workspace or equivalent

Requirements

• Social media management and content creation experience required
  
• Prior experience as an executive assistant, ideally supporting a fast-moving or growing business
  
• Comfortable and proficient using AI tools, particularly Claude, as part of daily workflow
  
• Highly self-directed, able to take initiative and move quickly without waiting for detailed direction
  
• Strong organizational skills and comfort managing tasks across multiple stakeholders
