About the role
The position of Buyer I is responsible for the procurement and process application as it supports Insight’s operations and order fulfillment. This will include working operational issues with suppliers, providing strong client service, and maintaining data accuracy within SAP. The statusing specialist will be empowered to review open orders, maintain ETA’s, and update tracking information. In addition, this individual will be responsible for management of back-order switching, supporting, and training other members of the team and being able to place PO’s. Teamwork with internal and external departments is necessary to ensure achievement of overall team goals.
As a Buyer I t you will:
• Manage purchase order lifecycle by reviewing open POs, updating backlog status, maintaining accurate ETAs, and posting goods receipts/invoices in SAP
• Coordinate with vendors through multiple channels (email, portals, calls, chat) to obtain shipment updates, tracking details, and estimated ship dates
• Monitor daily reports and support back-order management, including order switching and timely follow-ups to ensure order completion
• Collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to resolve discrepancies, delays, and operational issues while adhering to KPIs and service-level agreements
• Handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, including PO placement, team support/training, and maintaining clear written and verbal communication
What we’re looking for
Graduate of any course
Proficiency in SAP (required) with familiarity in Freshdesk (preferred) and other ticketing systems
Background in purchasing and accounts processes, with understanding of related workflows and transactions
Strong English communication skills, with the ability to manage KPIs and monitor performance metrics
