Role Overview

Join our cybersecurity team and take on a key leadership role in analyzing, reverse-engineering, and mitigating advanced malware threats across enterprise environments.

As a Malware Engineer – Associate Manager, you will drive malware analysis and threat investigation initiatives, support incident response efforts, and help enhance the organization’s detection and response capabilities. You will also guide team members, ensuring high-quality delivery while contributing to the overall cybersecurity strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee malware analysis and reverse engineering activities
• Perform deep-dive static and dynamic analysis of malicious code to identify attack patterns, behaviors, and impact
• Support and drive incident response efforts involving malware-related investigations
• Collaborate with SOC, DFIR, and Threat Intelligence teams to improve detection and response strategies
• Develop and maintain detection rules, signatures, and threat intelligence outputs (IOCs, TTPs)
• Evaluate the effectiveness of existing security controls and recommend improvements
• Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and oversight to team members
• Facilitate knowledge sharing and capability development initiatives
• Engage with cross-functional stakeholders to align security priorities and drive key decisions

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of experience in Malware Engineering / Malware Analysis
• Strong expertise in:
  • Malware behavior analysis and attack lifecycle
  • Operating systems (Windows/Linux internals)
• Hands-on experience with:
  • Malware analysis tools (e.g., IDA, Ghidra, x64dbg, OllyDbg, sandbox environments)
• Solid understanding of:
  • Networking fundamentals and common attack vectors
  • Threat analysis and incident response processes
• Proven ability to:
  • Analyze complex threats and produce actionable intelligence
  • Work independently while guiding and supporting team members

Additional Information:
- Must be amenable with shifting schedule at Uptown BGC, with daily RTO work set-up.
