The Cashier is responsible for providing excellent customer service, processing transactions efficiently, and maintaining a clean and organized checkout area. This role requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to handle cash and electronic payments accurately.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet customers and assist with their purchase process.
- Accurately process cash, credit, and debit transactions.
- Ensure all items are properly scanned and priced.
- Provide receipts, refunds, or exchanges as necessary.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and stocked checkout area.
- Address customer questions or concerns with professionalism and courtesy.
- Monitor and report any discrepancies in cash drawers.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth store operations.
- Adhere to company policies regarding payments, refunds, and safety.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous cashier or customer service experience preferred.
- Strong numerical and cash-handling skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic knowledge of operating a point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift moderate weight.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.
