Senior Safety Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and implement robust, highly reliable software for safety-critical systems using functional safety and deep learning safety techniques.
• Collaborate with machine learning, hardware, and core software teams to keep data pipelines, models, and middleware within defined safety envelopes.
• Develop and optimize software for Linux and real-time operating systems.
• Create testing frameworks and validation strategies for reliability and safety in edge-case scenarios.
• Mentor junior engineers on safety-critical coding standards and best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience focused on systems-level or embedded systems programming.
• Proficiency in C++, C, or Rust and strong understanding of embedded software architecture.
• Preferred qualifications include board bring-up, camera and LiDAR perception, formally certified safety-critical code, and practical experience with ISO 26262, IEC 61508, or ISO 13849.
• Experience with ROS 2, machine learning pipelines, Linux kernel configuration or module development, and QNX or similar real-time operating systems is preferred.
