Cost Control Engineer (Project-Based) Makati

Job Responsibilities

1. Develop, maintain, and monitor project budgets and cost control systems.

2. Track actual project costs against approved budgets and identify cost variances.

3. Prepare periodic cost reports and present project cost performance updates to management.

4. Prepare project cost forecasts, cash flow reports, and projected final cost estimates.

5. Coordinate with Project Managers, Site Engineers, Procurement Personnel, and Contractors to obtain cost and progress information.

6. Monitor project progress and validate accomplishments against approved schedules.

7. Analyze cost trends and recommend corrective actions to prevent cost overruns.

8. Review subcontractor billings, supplier quotations, purchase requests, and change orders.

9. Evaluate the financial impact of project variations and additional works.

10. Maintain accurate records of project commitments, expenditures, and forecast costs.

11. Support project bidding and tendering activities through cost analysis and historical cost data.

12. Prepare project S-Curves, cost-loading summaries, and management reports.

13. Assist in the preparation and review of project budgets during project planning and execution stages.

14. Participate in project coordination meetings and provide cost-related recommendations.

15. Ensure that all project cost control activities are properly documented and auditable.

The Cost Control Engineer will be expected to prepare and maintain, as applicable:

1. The work environment is primarily office-based, focusing on project controls, budgeting, reporting, and coordination activities.

2. Site visits may be required to validate project progress and support cost monitoring activities.

3. The role requires regular interaction with project teams, contractors, suppliers, and management.

4. Occasional travel to assigned project locations may be required.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Industrial, or a related Engineering discipline).

2. Professional License (PRC) is an advantage but not required.

3. At least 3 years of relevant experience in Cost Control, Cost Engineering, Project Controls, Estimating, Quantity Surveying, or Project Management.

4. Experience in EPC projects involving Electrical, Mechanical, and Civil/Structural works is preferred.

5. Experience in project budgeting, cost monitoring, forecasting, cash flow preparation, and cost reporting.

6. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Project. Experience using other project management, budgeting, and reporting tools is an advantage.

7. Familiarity with project scheduling, progress monitoring, and productivity analysis.

8. Knowledge of procurement processes, subcontractor management, contract administration, and change order evaluation.

9. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

10. Excellent communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills.
