Data Platform Engineer

Scope of Work and Responsibilities - Design, build, and maintain scalable and secure data pipelines , as well as data lake and data warehouse architectures
- Optimize data workflows for performance and cost-efficiency in cloud environments (e.g., Azure)
- Lead the adoption and implementation of modern data engineering tools and frameworks , such as:
- Azure Databricks
- Azure Data Factory
- Monitor and troubleshoot data platform performance and reliability issues to ensure stable operations
- Collaborate with the product delivery team and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver meaningful insights
- Actively participate in Agile development processes , including Scrum and Kanban ceremonies
- Prepare high-level and detailed technical designs for data solutions
- Apply best practices in:
- Coding
- Testing
- Deployment (including CI/CD pipelines)
- Stay up to date with the latest trends in analytics and data engineering , and recommend continuous improvements
- Perform other related tasks as assigned
Requirements and Qualifications (Education & Work Experience)
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Data Science , or a related field
Relevant Experience and Other Requirements
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a platform engineering or software engineering role
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the architecture, design, and development of integrated systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proven experience with cloud platforms , such as:
- Microsoft Azure
- Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, such as Terraform
- Proven experience developing microservices for data integration using:
- TypeScript
- Python
- Familiarity with:
- Modern data warehousing solutions (e.g., Databricks)
- Relational databases (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server)
- Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and project management methodologies
- Experience working in Agile environments , such as Scrum or Kanban
- Experience with Azure DevOps is preferred
- Experience with Azure Cloud Services and CI/CD pipelines is an advantage
- Certifications in Secure Coding, Scrum, or DevOps are a plus
- Experience working in collaborative teams (five or more members)
- Ability to work effectively with senior executives from diverse cultural backgrounds
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
Work Arrangement
- Hybrid setup , requiring to report onsite three (3) times per week . If the requesting unit requires contractors to report to HQ, compliance is mandatory
- Work schedule: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Manila Time)
