Research and Development Head (Construction)

Materials Engineer II – Construction and Concrete Research & Development Head Research & Innovation Lead the design, testing, and optimization of concrete mixes, admixtures, and alternative binders. Develop sustainable solutions (e.g., low-carbon cement, recycled aggregates, geopolymer concrete). Quality Assurance & Standards Establish laboratory protocols and ensure compliance with ASTM, AASHTO, ISO, and local standards. Oversee performance testing (compressive strength, durability, permeability, shrinkage). Project Leadership Direct R&D projects from concept to implementation, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Supervise engineers and technicians, providing mentorship and technical guidance. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with civil engineers, contractors, and government agencies to integrate innovations. Present findings to management and external stakeholders to influence industry practices. Sustainability & Risk Management Promote eco-friendly practices and evaluate lifecycle impacts of materials. Identify risks in material performance and propose corrective measures.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Science, or Chemical Engineering (Master’s preferred). Experience: Minimum 5–7 years in construction materials R&D, with at least 2 years in a leadership role. Technical Expertise: Cement chemistry, concrete technology, and admixture development. Laboratory testing methods (spectroscopy, thermal analysis, mechanical testing). Knowledge of international standards (ASTM, AASHTO, ISO). Skills:Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Leadership and project management capabilities. Excellent communication and technical reporting skills.
