DevOps Engineer

Responsibilities

• Build, deploy, and monitor infrastructure using AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, CloudWatch, and VPC.
• Maintain and improve GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines for builds, tests, and automated deployments.
• Support release processes and troubleshoot build, deployment, and environment issues.
• Write Bash and Python scripts and automations to eliminate repetitive manual work.
• Manage access controls, secrets, and audit logging in accordance with HIPAA and internal security policies.
• Monitor system health, respond to alerts, and participate in incident response with senior engineers.
• Document infrastructure, runbooks, and operational procedures.
• Collaborate with developers on branching strategy, code review workflows, and GitHub repository hygiene.

Requirements

• Require 1–2 years of experience in DevOps, cloud, IT operations, or software engineering, including internships, co-ops, or strong personal/open-source project work.
• Require familiarity with AWS core services and the AWS console or CLI.
• Require hands-on experience with Git and GitHub, including branches, pull requests, and GitHub Actions workflows.
• Require comfort with Linux and scripting in Bash or Python.
• Require understanding of CI/CD fundamentals and automated, repeatable deployments.
• Require clear written communication, documentation habits, curiosity, ownership, and willingness to ask questions early.
• Preferred experience includes infrastructure-as-code with Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK; Docker or container orchestration; monitoring and observability with CloudWatch, Datadog, or Grafana; regulated environments such as HIPAA, SOC 2, HITRUST, or PCI; and AWS certification such as Cloud Practitioner or Solutions Architect Associate.
