Industrial Electrician

Duties and Responsibilities 1. Electrical & Equipment Maintenance Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical wiring, equipment, appliances, fixtures, and control systems using hand and power tools. Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and repair requirements, ensuring compliance with safety standards. Advise management regarding potential equipment hazards or operational risks. Diagnose malfunctioning systems and components using testing equipment and troubleshooting techniques. Perform major electrical repairs and installations when necessary. Install, maintain, and repair electrical control systems, wiring, and lighting systems. Inspect transformers, circuit breakers, and electrical panels. Troubleshoot electrical faults and perform corrective maintenance. Perform preventive maintenance of production machines, walk-in freezer and air conditioning units. 2. General Maintenance & Carpentry Perform general facility and equipment maintenance. Build and repair cabinets, doors, carts, and wooden fixtures using appropriate tools and machinery. Conduct routine inspections of premises, equipment, and infrastructure. Follow established safety rules and workplace procedures. 3. HVAC & Other Systems Maintain working knowledge of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. Troubleshoot and repair air conditioning and refrigeration units when required. Use appropriate testing equipment to verify system performance and efficiency. 4. HACCP & Food Safety Compliance Ensure maintenance activities comply with HACCP, GMP, and company food safety standards. Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, service logs, and equipment calibration for audit purposes. Ensure facility and equipment conditions prevent contamination risks in food production areas. Support production and QA teams during HACCP verification and validation activities. 5. Health, Safety & Sanitation Follow and enforce health, safety, and sanitation standards during maintenance work. Ensure proper use of tools, personal protective equipment (PPE), and safety devices. Report hazards, unsafe practices, or risks to the Maintenance Supervisor or Safety Officer. Support pest-proofing, sanitation, and facility maintenance activities. 6. Technical Support & Documentation Prepare preliminary sketches and cost estimates for materials, repairs, and maintenance services. Install conduits, pipes, and wiring systems required for electrical circuits. Assist in drafting equipment layouts and workspace arrangements to improve efficiency. Maintain maintenance logs, reports, and documentation for operational and compliance purposes. 7. Inventory & Resource Management Monitor and maintain stocks of spare parts, tools, and maintenance supplies. Coordinate with Purchasing and Warehouse departments for requisition of required materials. Recommend improvements related to energy efficiency, cost savings, and equipment reliability.
