Job Overview :

We’re looking for a 2D/FX Animator to join our growing creative team. In this role, you'll be instrumental in designing and crafting engaging animations and visual content for slot games, online gaming platforms, casino experiences, and fintech applications. Your work will bring life to interactive digital environments and elevate both gameplay and user interface experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

Create Visually Appealing 2D Effects:

• Design and animate hand-drawn or digitally created 2D visual effects such as smoke, fire, water, explosions, magic, and environmental elements.
• Ensure effects match the artistic style and tone of the project.

Integrate FX into Animation Sequences:

• Adjust effects timing and behavior to enhance narrative impact and visual flow.

Concept Development & Pre-visualization:

• Participate in brainstorming and visual development of FX concepts with art and animation teams.
• Produce thumbnails, animatics, and test animations to explore and pitch ideas.

Technical Execution:

• Use software like Adobe After Effects, Spine, or equivalent to create FX animations.
• Maintain file structure, naming conventions, and documentation for ease of hand-off and revision.

Feedback & Iteration:

• Receive and respond to creative and technical feedback in a professional and constructive manner.
• Iterate on animations based on direction from leads, directors, or clients.

Optimization & Delivery:

• Optimize FX animations for performance and compatibility across platforms.
• Ensure final FX assets are properly exported and delivered in the required formats and resolutions.

Cross-Department Collaboration:

• Communicate with pipeline, compositing, and rendering teams to ensure smooth integration of FX.
• Troubleshoot technical challenges related to effects animation

Stay Current with Industry Trends:

• Keep up to date with trends, techniques, and tools in 2D animation and FX design to continuously enhance quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in 2D animation or FX animation for film, TV, games, or digital media.
• A strong portfolio or demo reel showcasing 2D FX animation skills, including examples of effects like smoke, fire, water, magic, and destruction.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in 2D animation and FX software such as:
• Toon Boom Harmony
• Adobe After Effects
• TVPaint
• Adobe Animate
• (Optional) Familiarity with Photoshop, Blender (for 2D FX pipelines), or Spine.
• Understanding of timing, motion, physics, and stylized animation principles.
• Experience working with compositing and layering FX into animated scenes.

Creative & Artistic Skills:

• Strong drawing and design fundamentals, including an eye for shape, color, movement, and composition.
• Ability to translate abstract or complex ideas into clear visual effects.
• Knowledge of traditional animation principles (squash and stretch, anticipation, follow-through, etc.).

Soft Skills & Team Fit:

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills—ability to work closely with directors, animators, and other departments.
• Strong time management and organizational skills; ability to work within deadlines and adapt to shifting priorities.
• Openness to feedback and ability to iterate quickly and efficiently.

Bonus / Nice to Have:

• Experience with game engines (Unity, Unreal) or VFX scripting tools.
• Familiarity with 3D animation or FX for hybrid workflows.
• Experience in a studio pipeline or remote production environment.
