About the role
SYC Philippine Corporation is seeking a QAQC Site Engineer - TBM to join our dynamic construction team. This is a full-time position based in Pasig City, Metro Manila . As QAQC Site Engineer specialising in Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) operations, you will play a critical role in ensuring that all construction activities meet the highest quality standards and comply with project specifications, safety regulations, and industry best practices. This position is essential to maintaining project excellence and delivering safe, high-quality tunnelling infrastructure.Key responsibilities
Monitor and inspect TBM tunnelling operations to ensure compliance with design specifications and quality standards
Conduct comprehensive quality assurance and control checks on excavation, support systems, and tunnel linings during construction
Document all quality inspections, testing results, and non-conformances through detailed reports and daily logs
Coordinate with contractors, engineering teams, and project management to address quality issues and implement corrective actions
Perform material testing and verification to confirm that all components meet specified requirements before installation
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards throughout all tunnelling activities
Conduct defect identification, tracking, and resolution to maintain project milestones and quality benchmarks
Liaise with the design team to clarify specifications and resolve technical queries on site
Maintain accurate records of all quality-related documentation and prepare regular compliance reports
Participate in site meetings and provide quality status updates to project stakeholders
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in quality assurance and control within the construction industry, preferably involving tunnelling or underground works
Proven experience working on TBM or other mechanised tunnelling projects
Strong knowledge of construction specifications, quality standards, and relevant Philippine and international building codes
Proficiency in quality management systems and inspection methodologies
