We are looking for a highly organised and analytical Electrical Estimator to support our Australian clients with accurate cost estimates, material take-offs, tender preparation, and project pricing.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of electrical systems, construction costs, technical drawings, and estimation processes. The successful candidate should be detail-oriented, commercially aware, and capable of managing multiple estimating tasks with minimal supervision.

• Prepare accurate cost estimates for electrical projects based on drawings, specifications, and project requirements

• Conduct quantity take-offs for electrical materials, equipment, labour, and other project resources

• Calculate project costs, including materials, labour, subcontractors, equipment, and overheads

• Review project plans, technical drawings, specifications, and tender documents

• Obtain and compare supplier and subcontractor quotations

• Identify potential cost variations, discrepancies, and risks in project estimates

• Prepare detailed and competitive quotations and tender submissions

• Ensure estimates are accurate, complete, and aligned with project requirements

• Interpret electrical drawings, layouts, schematics, and technical specifications

• Review bills of quantities (BOQs), scope of works, and project schedules

• Identify missing information, design inconsistencies, and potential scope gaps

• Prepare estimation reports, cost breakdowns, and supporting documentation

• Maintain accurate records of estimates, quotations, supplier pricing, and project costs

• Ensure estimating documentation complies with relevant Australian standards and client requirements

• Liaise with Australian clients, project managers, engineers, suppliers, and subcontractors

• Clarify technical requirements and confirm project scope before finalising estimates

• Follow up on supplier quotations and outstanding project information

• Support tender reviews and provide cost-related information to relevant stakeholders

• Communicate estimating updates, assumptions, exclusions, and potential risks clearly

• Manage deadlines and prioritise multiple estimates and tender submissions

• Maintain and update estimating spreadsheets, databases, and cost libraries

• Monitor material pricing and labour rates to support accurate cost forecasting

• Identify opportunities to improve estimating accuracy and efficiency

• Assist with reviewing actual project costs against estimated costs when required

• Take ownership of assigned estimates from initial review through submission

• Continuously improve estimating processes, documentation, and workflows

• Experience as an Electrical Estimator, Estimator, Electrical Engineer, Electrical Draftsperson, or similar role

• Background in electrical, mechanical, civil, industrial, construction, roofing, HVAC, plumbing, structural, or related trades is an advantage

• Experience preparing cost estimates, material take-offs, quotations, or tender submissions

• Ability to interpret technical drawings, construction plans, and project specifications

• Knowledge of electrical materials, installation methods, labour costing, and construction practices

• Familiarity with Australian electrical standards and construction requirements is highly regarded

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications

• Experience using estimating software, construction management systems, or project costing tools is an advantage

• Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

• Strong written and verbal English communication skills

• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
