Job Description – Data Analyst
Position Title - Data Analyst
Purpose of the Role
The Data Analyst will support data quality, data governance, and data readiness initiatives by analyzing, cleansing, organizing, and validating business data across multiple systems and domains. The role will focus on improving the accuracy, consistency, and usability of enterprise data to support operational efficiency, future AI initiatives, advanced analytics, system modernization programs, and business decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Data Quality and Data Cleansing
Conduct data profiling, validation, and quality assessments across business and operational systems.
Identify data anomalies, duplicates, inconsistencies, missing values, and data integrity issues.
Execute data cleansing, standardization, and rationalization activities.
Support business units in defining and validating data correction requirements.
Data Analysis and Documentation
Analyze data relationships across customers, policies, claims, payments, commissions, products, and other business domains.
Develop and maintain data dictionaries, metadata, business definitions, and data lineage documentation.
Produce data quality reports, dashboards, and management insights.
Business and Modernization Support
Support data preparation activities for system modernization, migration, and transformation initiatives.
Assist in establishing AI-ready and analytics-ready datasets.
Work closely with business and IT teams to understand data requirements and business rules.
Stakeholder Engagement
Coordinate with business users, subject matter experts, and technical teams to validate data requirements and findings.
Participate in data governance and data quality improvement initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Business Analytics, or a related field.
Minimum 3 years of experience in data analysis, data review, data quality, reporting, or analytics functions.
Demonstrated experience in data cleansing, data validation, and data quality improvement activities.
Experience working with large and complex datasets across multiple business functions.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience handling enterprise-wide datasets covering multiple departments or business units.
Insurance, banking, financial services, or related industry experience.
Experience supporting data migration, system modernization, or digital transformation initiatives.
Familiarity with data governance and data management best practices.
Technical Skills
Advanced Microsoft Excel
SQL and database querying
Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent visualization tools
Data profiling and data analysis tools
Knowledge of data governance and data quality frameworks
Understanding of data warehousing and data lake concepts is an advantage
