Refrigeration Technician

Description - Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of refrigeration systems, cold rooms, blast freezers, chillers, condensers, evaporators, and related equipment.
- Monitor and maintain temperature and humidity levels within cold storage facilities to ensure operational efficiency.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot refrigeration, electrical, and mechanical system issues.
- Conduct routine inspections of compressors, condensers, evaporators, piping systems, and control panels.
- Repair or replace defective components such as motors, valves, sensors, thermostats, relays, and refrigeration lines.
- Monitor refrigerant levels and perform refrigerant charging, recovery, and leak detection activities.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and company maintenance procedures.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, and equipment service logs.
- Coordinate with operations personnel to minimize equipment downtime and maintain continuous cold storage operations.
- Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns and implement corrective actions.
- Assist in the installation, commissioning, and testing of new refrigeration equipment and systems.
- Recommend improvements to enhance equipment reliability, efficiency, and energy consumption.
Requirements
- Educational Qualifications: Diploma in Refrigeration, HVAC, or a related field.
- Experience Level: 1–3 years of experience in refrigeration or HVAC.
- Skills and Competencies: Strong understanding of refrigeration systems and components.
- Qualities and Traits: Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Responsibilities and Duties: Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Working Conditions: Willingness to work in various environments including commercial and residential settings.
