SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Qualifications:
- Secondary education required
- Relevant tertiary degree
- Interest in studying Chartered Accountant (CA)
Experience:
- 2+ years experience in Australian accounting
- Adept at learning new IT programs
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Experience with the Xero App suite highly regarded but not essential

- Multitasking across several jobs and prioritising as necessary
- Strong focus on learning, have a drive to learn and progress your skills to take on more complex work as you become more experienced, with a willingness to take on feedback for continuous improvement
- Exceptional communication skills (both written & verbal)

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Client Accounting Services:
- Preparation of all types of tax returns (individual, sole trader, company, and trusts) for our clients
- Preparation of the Financial Statements - BAS/IAS/PAYG for all client types
- Liaising directly with accountant to assist in response to client queries
- Drafting of emails to client as required
- Identify potential issues or opportunities in day-to-day work and raising these with team leader
- Assisting with research to interpret Tax Legislation
- Business Development:
- Participating in and contributing to team meetings
- Assist accountants and team leader with completion of special assignments or projects as requested
- Contributes to process improvements and implementation of them
