Production Manager

We are seeking an experienced and result-driven Garment Production Manager to direct and optimize our apparel manufacturing operations. In this role, you will lead daily factory floor activities, manage production schedules, optimize line assembly (Lean/SAM), ensure strict quality standards, and coordinate across supply chain, cutting, sewing, and finishing departments. The ideal candidate possesses deep technical knowledge of garment construction, line balancing, and team leadership in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production Planning & Line Management
- Schedule & Operations: Develop master production schedules based on purchase orders, delivery deadlines, and factory capacity.
- Line Balancing: Allocate machine operators, machinery, and resources effectively to prevent bottlenecks and achieve daily target output.
- Standard Allowed Minutes (SAM/SMV): Analyze and monitor SAM/SMV for various styles to optimize efficiency and calculate accurate production costs.
- Workflow Optimization: Implement Lean manufacturing principles, 5S, and continuous improvement methods on the sewing line.
2. Quality Control & Technical Oversight
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance (QA/QC) teams to enforce defect-prevention protocols from cutting to packaging.
- Ensure pre-production (PP) samples are approved and that technical specification sheets (tech packs) are strictly followed on the floor.
- Conduct inline and final audits to maintain client specifications and compliance standards.
3. Team Leadership & Workforce Management
- Lead, supervise, and mentor floor supervisors, line leaders, and machine operators.
- Monitor operator productivity, attendance, and efficiency metrics; conduct performance evaluations.
- Coordinate training for floor staff on new sewing techniques, machine operations, and safety guidelines.
4. Supply Chain & Inventory Coordination
- Work closely with Merchandising, Sourcing, and Cutting departments to ensure fabric, trims, and accessories are available prior to line loading.
- Track raw material consumption to minimize fabric wastage (utilization/marker efficiency).
- Coordinate machine maintenance schedules with the engineering team to minimize line downtime.
5. Reporting & Cost Management
- Track and report Daily Production Reports (DPR), line efficiency percentage, and defect rates to senior management.
- Manage production budgets, control labor costs, and reduce fabric scrap and re-work expenses.
