Software Development Delivery Manager

- Oversee the end-to-end delivery of software development projects, from planning and solution design to development, testing, deployment, and production support.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to establish project priorities, timelines, resource requirements, and delivery milestones.
- Provide technical guidance to development teams and promote sound engineering practices and coding standards.
- Review system designs, architectural decisions, technical documentation, and development approaches to ensure scalability, maintainability, and quality.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies, monitor delivery progress, and address issues that may affect project timelines or deliverables.
- Manage project risks, technical dependencies, resource allocation, and delivery-related concerns.
- Work with stakeholders to identify technical issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive measures.
- Oversee production release planning, deployment coordination, patch management, and post-deployment activities.
- Promote effective collaboration among technical teams, business units, and other stakeholders.
- Monitor team performance and project outcomes to support continuous improvement in delivery efficiency and quality.
- Contribute to budgeting, capacity planning, and resource management for application development initiatives.
- Maintain clear and accurate technical documentation, project updates, and delivery reports.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field. A postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
- At least 7 years of experience in technical delivery management or software delivery management .
- At least 7 years of experience in software development and project management .
- At least 1 year of experience leading or managing software development teams .
- Demonstrated experience managing the complete software development lifecycle, from requirements and design through deployment.
- Strong programming background or substantial hands-on experience and understanding of software engineering practices.
- Extensive knowledge of software design patterns, SOLID principles, and architecture review practices.
- Practical experience with Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid project delivery methodologies.
- Strong understanding of Agile ceremonies, delivery planning, sprint execution, and project tracking.
- Ability to prepare, interpret, and review technical diagrams, system documentation, and development artifacts.
- Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and similar project management and documentation platforms.
- Knowledge of on-premises and cloud environments, including AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Understanding of scalability, system security, and application performance considerations.
- Working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, performance optimization, and technical architecture evaluation.
- Familiarity with software testing practices, including unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing.
- Understanding of defect management, bug life cycles, and software quality improvement practices.
- Experience in production deployment planning, root cause analysis, and patch management.
- Understanding of DevOps practices, deployment automation, and release management tools.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, meeting facilitation, mentoring, and cross-functional coordination skills.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Knowledge of project budgeting, resource planning, and capacity management.
