Mid-Level Back-end Developer Required qualifications
- 3–5 years of professional backend development experience.
- Strong TypeScript and Node.js (v20+), including async patterns, error handling and project structure.
- Production experience building REST APIs with Express or a similar framework.
- Solid relational database skills in MySQL or PostgreSQL: schema design, indexing, transactions and query tuning.
- Hands-on experience with an event or message broker (Kafka, RabbitMQ or similar).
- Experience with authentication and API security: JWT, OTP, request validation and OWASP basics.
- Comfortable with Docker and with deploying and debugging services on AWS (EC2, RDS, S3, load balancers).
- Writes automated tests as part of normal work, and follows Git-based PR workflows.
- Uses AI-assisted coding tools (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor or similar) effectively and responsibly. Reviews, tests and understands all
- Fintech, lending or payments experience, especially with Philippine rails (GCash, InstaPay, PESONet) or Xendit.
- Familiarity with BSP/SEC compliance, KYC flows or the Data Privacy Act.
- Socket.IO or other WebSocket experience at scale.
- KrakenD or another API gateway.
- Terraform and AWS CodeBuild/CodeDeploy pipelines; Azure DevOps Pipelines.
- Redis for caching or rate limiting.
- Push notifications (Firebase Cloud Messaging, Expo) and SMS gateways (M360).
- AWS Rekognition or other identity verification and face matching services.
- Observability with Sentry or New Relic.
