Merchant Success & Marketing Intern (OJT) - Remote

GoBalik is a Philippine SaaS platform that helps small businesses bring customers back through digital loyalty. We’re a lean, founder-led startup, so you’ll work directly with the Founder on real work for real merchants.

We are looking for a Marketing Intern (OJT) to join our team on a fully remote setup . The intern will gain hands-on experience in merchant acquisition, customer engagement, content creation, market research, business analysis, and marketing campaign execution .

The role involves communicating with potential merchants through phone and email, assisting with merchant onboarding and legitimacy verification, supporting merchants and customers, creating written and visual marketing content, conducting market and competitor research, and analyzing customer and merchant behavior to help improve our products, campaigns, and overall customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Merchant Outreach & Onboarding

  • Reach out to prospective merchants through phone and email to introduce GoBalik

  • Follow up with newly registered and inactive merchants, and help them get set up

  • Help verify the legitimacy and basic business information of merchants using a company-provided checklist

• Merchant & Customer Support

  • Assist merchants through email with inquiries and concerns

  • Assist customers with basic questions and concerns

  • Identify recurring issues and opportunities to improve customer experience

• Content & Creative Marketing

  • Write blog articles and other marketing content

  • Create social media content and captions

  • Contribute ideas for social media campaigns and content

  • Assist in preparing promotional and marketing materials

  • All public content is reviewed and approved before publishing

• Market & Business Research

  • Conduct market and competitor research using public information

  • Monitor competitor products, campaigns, promotions, and activities

  • Research merchant and customer trends

  • Analyze merchant performance and customer engagement using company-provided reports

  • Identify opportunities for growth and improvement

• Marketing Campaigns & Promotions

  • Assist in planning marketing campaigns and promotional activities

  • Take part in campaign and promotion execution

  • Support customer engagement and retention initiatives

  • Help evaluate campaign performance and results

• Events & Activations

  • Assist in planning and executing events and merchant activations

  • Support marketing activities before, during, and after events

What This Role Is Not

• Not a sales or commission-based role. There are no sales quotas.

• The intern does not negotiate pricing, offer discounts, or make commitments on behalf of the company.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled college student who needs OJT/internship hours

• Preferred courses: Marketing, Business Administration, Communication, Entrepreneurship, or related

• Comfortable talking to people, including phone calls

• Clear written and spoken Filipino and English

• Basic content skills; a portfolio or sample is a plus

• Organized, reliable, and willing to ask when unsure

Work Setup

Fully Remote / Work From Home

• No regular office attendance required. Occasional on-site events or activations may be scheduled in advance; transportation and meals for those days are covered by the company

• Monday to Friday, about 6 hours a day, flexible hours with a short core window for check-ins; hours follow your school’s OJT requirements

• Communication and coordination are done online

• Merchant calls are made through the company’s calling system; no personal number needed

• Intern must have a laptop or desktop, a reliable internet connection, and a suitable work environment
