A Barista is responsible for preparing and serving coffee, tea, and other beverages while delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced café or restaurant environment. The Barista prepares and serves Arabic coffee and teas, creates a welcoming atmosphere for guests, ensures product quality and consistency, handles cash and card transactions accurately, and maintains cleanliness while following food safety and hygiene standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Beverage Preparation
- Prepare and serve hot and cold drinks such as espresso-based beverages, brewed coffee, tea, and specialty drinks.
- Operate coffee machines, grinders, blenders, and other equipment safely and efficiently.
- Follow recipes and presentation standards for consistency and quality.
- Customize drinks according to customer preferences.
2. Customer Service
- Greet customers warmly and take accurate orders.
- Answer questions about menu items and make recommendations.
- Handle customer complaints professionally and resolve issues promptly.
- Create a friendly and inviting environment.
3. Cash Handling & Sales
- Operate the cash register and process payments (cash, card, mobile payments).
- Issue receipts and provide correct change.
- Upsell menu items and promote special offers.
4. Cleanliness & Maintenance
- Clean and sanitize work areas, utensils, and equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness of seating areas and service counters.
- Restock supplies such as cups, lids, syrups, and ingredients.
- Follow health and safety regulations.
5. Inventory & Stock Control
- Monitor inventory levels and report shortages.
- Receive and store deliveries properly.
- Rotate stock to ensure freshness.
6. Teamwork
- Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors.
- Assist with opening and closing duties.
- Support other staff during busy periods.
