Senior Steel Detailer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Steel Detailers with 10+ years of expertise in structural and miscellaneous steel detailing. The ideal candidate will be responsible for producing accurate fabrication and erection drawings, coordinating with engineers, architects, fabricators, and contractors, and ensuring compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed structural and miscellaneous steel shop drawings, erection drawings, and fabrication packages.
  
• Develop and maintain accurate 3D steel models using detailing software such as Tekla Structures, SDS2, or AutoCAD.
  
• Generate material take-offs, bills of materials (BOMs), and CNC files for fabrication.
  
• Review structural and architectural contract documents, specifications, and engineering drawings.
  
• Coordinate with project managers, structural engineers, fabricators, and field personnel to resolve design and fabrication issues.
  
• Perform connection detailing in accordance with applicable codes and project requirements.
  
• Identify and resolve clashes, constructability concerns, and fabrication challenges before production.
  
• Ensure drawings comply with industry standards, including American Institute of Steel Construction standards and project specifications.
  
• Participate in project coordination meetings and provide technical detailing support.
  
• Mentor junior detailers and assist in developing detailing best practices. Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and quality requirements.
  
• Review and check drawings prepared by other detailers for accuracy and completeness.
  

Requirements

• Required Qualifications Diploma, Associate Degree, or Bachelor's Degree in Drafting, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
  
• Minimum 10 years of experience in structural steel detailing. Advanced proficiency in steel detailing software, including Tekla Structures, SDS2, or AutoCAD.
  
• Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication and erection processes. Thorough knowledge of steel connections, welding symbols, bolting requirements, and fabrication standards.
  
• Experience with commercial, industrial, institutional, and infrastructure projects.
  
• Ability to interpret structural and architectural drawings and specifications.
  
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  
• Knowledge of BIM workflows and coordination processes. Preferred Qualifications Experience with complex steel structures, high-rise buildings, stadiums, industrial plants, or bridges.
  
• Familiarity with BIM coordination software and clash detection tools. Experience leading detailing teams and coordinating offshore/onshore detailing operations.
  
• Understanding of international standards such as AISC, CISC, BS, or Eurocode.
