Process cash, credit, debit, and mobile payments.
- Issue receipts, refunds, and exchanges as necessary.
- Count and balance cash register drawers at the beginning and end of shifts.
Customer Service:
- Greet customers and assist with inquiries.
- Resolve complaints or escalate them to a supervisor when necessary.
- Provide information on products, promotions, and store policies.
Accuracy and Efficiency:
- Scan items and ensure correct pricing.
- Verify the authenticity of payment methods.
- Maintain accurate records of transactions and handle discrepancies.
Workplace Maintenance:
- Keep the checkout area clean, organized, and stocked with supplies.
- Restock bags, receipt rolls, and other necessary materials.
Compliance:
- Adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Follow security protocols to prevent theft or fraud.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a cashier or in customer service is a plus but not always required.
Skills:
- Strong mathematical and numerical skills.
- Proficiency in operating cash registers and POS (Point of Sale) systems.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in transactions.
