Department Engineering Alterations and Additions Employee Type Probationary Job Responsibilities
- The Engineering Supervisor for Alteration and Addition is responsible for managing, coordinating, and supervising all phases of renovation, expansion, fit-out, remodeling, and building enhancement projects. The role ensures that all A&A works are completed safely, within budget, on schedule, and in compliance with approved plans, specifications, building codes, and regulatory requirements.
- As the primary technical representative responsible for project planning, design review, construction management, quality assurance, contractor coordination, cost control, and project turnover.
- Manages technical staff, conducts inspections, and ensures quality workmanship aligned with design specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Planning & Coordination
- Review alteration and addition project requirements, drawings, and specifications.
- Coordinate with project team, contractors, consultants, and relevant departments to ensure smooth execution.
- Schedule works to minimize disruption to operations and guest services.
- Regulatory & Safety Compliance
- Ensure all A&A works comply with building codes, fire safety regulations (e.g., RA 9514), environmental laws, and local authority requirements.
- Implement safety protocols for workers, staff, and guests during construction activities.
- Secure necessary permits, inspections, and clearances.
- Supervision of Works
- Oversee day-to-day site activities, ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to design specifications.
- Monitor contractors' performance, ensuring timelines, standards, and safety measures are met.
- Conduct inspections before, during, and after works for compliance and functionality.
- Quality Assurance & Technical Support
- Check materials, equipment, and workmanship to ensure alignment with approved standards.
- Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting during modifications, installations, or upgrades.
- Monitor testing and commissioning activities.
- Ensure prompt correction of defects and deficiencies.
- Verify completion of punch-list items prior to acceptance.
- Review and validate as-built drawings.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain updated records of plans, permits, as-built drawings, and approvals.
- Prepare progress reports, incident reports, and completion certificates for management and regulatory submission.
- Document changes for future maintenance reference.
- Budget & Resource Management
- Monitor project costs, ensuring budget control and efficient use of resources.
- Recommend cost-saving measures without compromising safety and quality.
- Coordinate procurement of materials, tools, and equipment required.
- Stakeholder Communication
- Liaise with management, housekeeping, security, and operations to align activities with business needs.
- Update stakeholders on project progress, challenges, and completion timelines.
- Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or Civil Engineering.
- Must possess a valid and current PRC Professional License as: Architect (Registered and Licensed Architect), or Civil Engineer (Registered and Licensed Civil Engineer). Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in building services, construction, or facilities engineering.
- Proven experience supervising alteration, addition, and fit-out works in commercial, hospitality, or industrial facilities.

- Strong leadership and supervisory skills to guide technicians and contractors.
- Effective communicator for coordination with management, third parties, and regulatory agencies. Analytical and problem-solving ability to manage site challenges.
- Strong sense of safety, compliance, and quality standards.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight project timelines.
- Experience in integrated resorts, hotels, casinos, or large commercial complexes is a plus.
