An Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, inspecting, and repairing electrical systems, wiring, and equipment to ensure safety, efficiency, and compliance with electrical codes and standards.
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of electrician apprenticeship or vocational training
- Valid electrician license or certification (if required)
- Knowledge of electrical systems, tools, and safety standards
- Ability to read technical documents and blueprints
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Physically fit and able to work in confined spaces or at heights
Job Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, systems, and fixtures
- Inspect electrical components such as transformers and circuit breakers
- Diagnose electrical problems using testing devices
- Ensure electrical systems comply with local and national electrical codes
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams
- Perform routine maintenance and preventive checks
- Respond promptly to electrical emergencies and power issues
- Replace or repair wiring, equipment, and fixtures as needed
- Maintain tools and electrical equipment in good working condition
- Follow safety procedures and wear protective equipment at all times
