For this role, you will be engaged directly by the client as an independent contractor. We are not an outsourcing agency. All of our roles are 100% remote so you'll be able to work from home. Who The Client Is: Our client is a well-established boutique accounting firm based in Sydney, Australia, providing specialist taxation, accounting, and advisory services to privately owned businesses, high-net-worth individuals, and family groups. Their work extends well beyond standard compliance, with a strong focus on complex business structures, strategic tax planning, and long-term client relationships. The firm operates in a fully cloud-based environment and values initiative, autonomy, and long-term working relationships. Several existing team members are based in the Philippines and have been with the firm for many years. Role Overview: We're looking for an experienced Senior Accountant with strong Australian public practice experience to join a high-performing accounting team. This is a senior-level position where you'll manage complex Australian business clients, including structures with 20+ entities. You'll work closely with the Director and broader team across taxation, financial reporting, trust accounting, and advisory engagements while operating with a high degree of independence. The ideal candidate is technically strong, detail-oriented, and comfortable taking ownership of complex accounting work with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities: - Prepare and review financial statements and tax returns (companies, trusts, partnerships, and individuals). - Provide proactive business advisory support, including tax planning, budgeting, and forecasting. - Assist clients with structuring, tax strategy, and growth initiatives. - Support engagements across business valuations, due diligence, financial modelling, three-way forecasting, and management and board reporting. - Collaborate with clients and internal teams to ensure efficient service delivery, leveraging cloud-based accounting technologies. - Ensure compliance with current tax legislation and accounting standards. - Identify process improvements and work with the team to implement more efficient ways of working. - Participate in regular team and client meetings, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of client work. - Liaise with clients to address queries, build strong relationships, and support their business needs. Requirements - CA or CPA-qualified (or equivalent) - 4-6 years of experience in a public practice accounting - Strong technical knowledge of Australian tax legislation - Experience working with clients across diverse industries and business sizes - High proficiency with cloud-based accounting systems (e. g. Xero) - Exposure to or interest in valuations, financial modelling, forecasting, or - management reporting (advantageous) - Excellent communication and relationship-building skills - Strong attention to detail and analytical capability - Ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities - A collaborative, growth-focused mindset Work Arrangement & Expectations: This is a remote role that will be set up via an Employer of Record (EOR) service.
