The Café Supervisor ensures the effective and efficient operation of the café, including staff supervision, maintaining high service standards, inventory management, and fostering a positive environment for both employees and customers.

Key Responsibilities
Operations Management
- Oversee the daily operations of the café, ensuring it runs smoothly.
- Monitor cleanliness, organization, and compliance with health and safety standards.
- Handle opening and closing procedures.
- Address operational challenges promptly.
Staff Supervision
- Supervise, train, and motivate café staff to provide excellent customer service.
- Assign tasks and manage staff schedules to ensure proper coverage.
- Monitor staff performance and provide feedback or escalate issues to the manager.
Customer Service
- Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction by addressing complaints or feedback promptly.
- Foster a welcoming environment for customers.
- Ensure staff adheres to service protocols and quality standards.
Inventory and Stock Management
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate with suppliers for timely restocking.
- Perform regular inventory checks and report discrepancies.
- Minimize wastage and monitor the use of supplies.
Financial Responsibilities
- Assist with cash handling and reconciling daily sales.
- Support the manager in achieving sales targets and monitoring expenses.
Promotion and Marketing
- Assist in implementing promotional campaigns or specials.
- Encourage staff to upsell products.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Degree or certification in hospitality, business management, or a related field (preferred).
- Food safety or hygiene certification (preferred).
Experience
- Proven experience in a café, restaurant, or food service environment (2+ years preferred).
- Experience in a supervisory or leadership role (1+ year preferred).
Skills and Abilities
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle cash and reconcile daily transactions.
- Proficiency in using POS systems and inventory software.
- Time management and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks.
- Problem-solving skills to address customer and operational issues efficiently.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and accuracy.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Capability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. (e.g., moving supplies).
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of coffee preparation and barista skills.
- Familiarity with local health and safety regulations.
- Experience implementing promotions or upselling
