About the company

A small, busy creative agency based in Sydney. They produce social media content for construction and building companies, and film on site two to three times a month: site walkthroughs, finished project montages and face-to-camera videos with their clients.

The team is three people with a big workload. They need a dedicated editor who turns that footage into polished Instagram Reels every week, so the team can get back to filming, strategy and their clients.

They have used freelance editors before. The problem was that those editors never quite nailed the brief and had to be re-briefed on the brand every time. This role exists to fix that. They want one person who learns their style properly and gets it right from then on.

About the role

You are the agency's go-to video editor. Most of your week is editing short-form video: up to 10 Reels a week, each 30 seconds to 1 minute long.

The edits are not complicated. There are no major graphics or special effects. Their style is premium and understated: beautiful b-roll, natural face-to-camera and clean captions. Nothing overly edited. What matters is doing it cleanly, quickly and on brand, every single time.

Face-to-camera videos are a big part of the work. You remove long pauses, mistakes and stumbles so the person sounds natural and confident, then add accurate closed captions.

The rest of your week is admin support for the team, including client timesheets and monthly social media reporting.

This is a great fit for a self-starter who shows initiative and wants to keep learning. The team is small, so your work will be noticed and valued.

Your week

You work three days a week during Sydney business hours.

On your editing days, the team drops raw footage into Google Drive. You edit around five Reels a day, keep every video on brand, and deliver finished files back to Drive, usually within two to three days of receiving the footage. On your admin day you support the team with timesheets, reporting and anything else that keeps the agency running.

What you will be doing

•Editing. Up to 10 Instagram Reels a week, 30 to 60 seconds each, from footage the team films on site.

•Site walkthroughs and project montages. Cutting footage of construction sites and finished projects into clean, visually beautiful Reels.

•Face-to-camera editing. Removing long pauses, mistakes and retakes so each video flows naturally.

•Closed captions. Adding accurate captions to every video and checking them carefully.

•Brand consistency. Following the agency's style and each client's brand guidelines on every edit, without needing to be re-briefed.

•Turnaround. Delivering edits within two to three days of receiving footage.

•File management. Organising raw footage and finished videos in Google Drive.

•Admin support. Ad-hoc tasks for the team, including client timesheets.

•Reporting. Preparing monthly social media reports in Sked Social.

•Websites (bonus). Updates and builds in Shopify, Wix or Squarespace if you have the skills.

What you need

•A portfolio of at least three short-form videos you edited yourself.

•Proven short-form video editing experience for Instagram Reels, TikTok or YouTube Shorts.

•CapCut is the agency's preferred editor. If you edit in Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve or Final Cut Pro and your work matches their style, you are still welcome to apply.

•Experience editing face-to-camera video so it sounds natural.

•Strong written English. Every video has captions, and they need to be accurate.

•The speed to edit around five finished Reels in an eight-hour day without cutting corners.

•Reliable internet with a backup connection and backup power, and a computer that handles video editing smoothly.

Nice to have

•Experience with Australian clients.

•Content for construction, building, trades, architecture or real estate.

•Canva for simple graphics.

•Sked Social, or a similar scheduling and reporting tool such as Later, Metricool or Meta Business Suite.

•Admin experience, including timesheets and Google Workspace.

•Website updates in Shopify, Wix or Squarespace.

•Xero or Microsoft Word for admin tasks.

Hours

•Part time, three days a week, about 24 hours per week. The hours may grow once the workload settles.

•Sydney business hours. That is roughly 6:00 am to 2:00 pm Manila time from October to April (Sydney daylight saving), and 7:00 am to 3:00 pm Manila time from April to October.

•The days of the week will be confirmed with the successful applicant.

Probation

Six months.
