About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Senior Accountant to join our team based in IT Park, Cebu City . In this role, you will be a key contributor to our month-end close process and hold end-to-end ownership over a broad portfolio of general ledger responsibilities.
The ideal candidate possesses strong US GAAP knowledge, advanced ERP experience (NetSuite preferred), and the ability to partner effectively across cross-functional departments (Marketing, HR, Operations, and Finance).
Key Responsibilities
- General Ledger & Month-End Close: Prepare, review, and post complex journal entries ensuring full supporting documentation; lead month-end close procedures within set timelines.
- Account Reconciliations: Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and proactively follow up on open items for timely resolution.
- Specialized Revenue & Marketing Accounting: Manage general ledger accounting for commissions, brand sponsorships, influencer marketing programs, and advertising expenditures.
- Accounts Receivable: Oversee AR processes, including reconciliation and resolution of outstanding customer/partner balances.
- Fixed Assets Management: Maintain the fixed asset subledger, tracking additions, disposals, depreciation, and rollforward schedules.
- Payroll & Benefits Accruals: Record payroll entries and maintain related accruals for compensation, employee benefits, insurance, and workers' compensation.
- Audit & Compliance Support: Prepare schedules and documentation for internal and external audits.
- Process Improvement: Continuously identify opportunities to enhance internal financial controls, close efficiency, and workflow documentation.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional Experience:
- 3–6 years of general ledger accounting experience.
- Public accounting background (Big 4 or mid-tier firm) is a strong plus.
- Accounting Standards: Solid, practical understanding of US GAAP and accrual-based accounting.
- Technical & Software Proficiency: High proficiency in ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and advanced MS Excel skills (pivot tables, complex formulas, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP).
- Certifications: Certified Public Accountant ( CPA ) license or CPA candidate status preferred.
- Industry Focus: Experience in e-commerce, subscription models, or consumer goods industries is an advantage.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical mindset, high attention to detail, and clear written/verbal communication skills.
