We are seeking an experienced Management Accountant to support the financial management and commercial performance of a growing global Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) business.

This role goes beyond traditional accounting, combining management reporting, financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and commercial analysis to help the business make informed, data-driven decisions. You will work closely with finance and operational stakeholders in the Philippines and Australia to provide meaningful insights into business performance, profitability, cash flow, and growth.

The ideal candidate has a strong management accounting background, a commercial mindset, and an interest in understanding how financial performance connects with SaaS operations, recurring revenue, and business growth.

Key ResponsibilitiesManagement Accounting and Financial Reporting

• Prepare monthly management accounts, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.

• Manage month-end closing activities, including journals, accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations.

• Ensure financial records and reports are accurate, complete, and delivered within agreed reporting deadlines.

• Prepare management reports, financial dashboards, and reporting packs for leadership and key stakeholders.

• Support the preparation of board reports and other financial performance updates.

Financial Analysis and Commercial Performance

• Analyse actual results against budgets, forecasts, and prior periods, providing clear and actionable variance commentary.

• Monitor revenue, operating expenses, gross margins, profitability, and cash flow to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.

• Provide financial insights to support commercial decisions, cost management, resource allocation, and business planning.

• Develop and maintain financial models to evaluate business performance and support strategic initiatives.

• Translate financial data into practical recommendations for non-financial stakeholders.

Budgeting and Forecasting

• Coordinate annual budgeting and regular forecasting processes with finance and operational teams.

• Maintain rolling forecasts and cash flow projections to support financial planning and decision-making.

• Review financial assumptions, identify potential risks, and recommend adjustments based on business performance.

• Assist in improving financial reporting processes, forecasting accuracy, and management accounting practices.

SaaS Financial Performance

• Monitor and report on key SaaS performance indicators, including monthly recurring revenue (MRR), annual recurring revenue (ARR), customer retention, churn, and revenue growth, where applicable.

• Analyse revenue trends and recurring income to support visibility into business performance and future growth.

• Work with operational stakeholders to understand the financial impact of customer acquisition, retention, operating costs, and business expansion.

• Support the development of financial reports and performance measures relevant to a subscription-based business model.

• Identify opportunities to improve financial visibility, reporting efficiency, and commercial decision-making as the business scales.

About You

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

• At least three years of experience in management accounting, commercial accounting, or a similar finance role.

• Solid understanding of month-end accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

• Experience in a SaaS, technology, subscription-based, or other recurring-revenue business is highly desirable.

• Understanding of SaaS financial metrics, including MRR, ARR, churn, customer retention, and revenue growth, is an advantage.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial analysis, reporting, and modelling.

• Experience using Xero and ERP or financial reporting systems.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.

• A commercial mindset with the ability to connect financial results to operational performance and business objectives.

• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, reliable financial information.

• Strong written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to explain financial insights clearly to non-financial stakeholders.

• Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with teams across different locations.
