Plant Engineer

The Plant Engineer ensures the efficient operation and maintenance of equipment or processing facilities. This role involves designing, implementing, and optimizing plant systems and processes to enhance productivity, safety, and sustainability. The position also requires procurement and project buying expertise to support efficient sourcing of materials, equipment, and services necessary for plant operations and projects.
- Design and implement efficient plant systems and processes to improve productivity and reduce costs.
- Oversee the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of equipment and machinery.
- Conduct regular inspections and assessments of plant operations to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve operational issues.
- Develop and manage maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance.
- Analyze production data and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including operating procedures and maintenance logs.
- Provide training and support to plant personnel on equipment operation and safety protocol.
- Manage procurement activities related to plant operations and projects, including sourcing, supplier evaluation, and purchase order processing.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of equipment, materials, and services aligned with project requirements.
- Support cost control initiatives through strategic sourcing and negotiation with vendors.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Licensure is a plus).
- At least 2 years of experience in plant engineering or a similar role.
- With experience in procurement, project buying, or supply chain management, preferably in the construction field.
- Strong knowledge of plant operations, machinery, and safety standards.
- Proficiency in engineering software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, PLC programming).
- Familiarity with procurement systems, vendor management, and contract negotiation is an advantage.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
