- High level of precision and accuracy in drawing and dimensioning to ensure proper installation.
- Communication skills:
- Ability to effectively communicate design ideas and technical details to engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Problem-solving skills:
- Identify and resolve potential design conflicts or issues during the drafting process.
- Design and draft electrical drawings:
- Create detailed schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and other electrical drawings using CAD software like AutoCAD or similar programs.
- Interpret engineering specifications:
- Understand and translate electrical engineering plans and specifications into accurate technical drawings.
- Coordinate with engineers and project teams:
- Collaborate with electrical engineers, architects, and project managers to ensure the electrical design aligns with overall project requirements.
- Maintain drawing accuracy:
- Ensure all dimensions, component placements, and technical details on the drawings are precise and comply with electrical codes and standards.
- Prepare documentation packages:
- Assemble complete drawing sets with necessary annotations, legends, and technical specifications for construction crews.
- Perform calculations:
- Calculate cable sizes, voltage drops, and other electrical parameters as needed for the design.
- Stay updated on industry standards:
- Keep abreast of new electrical codes, regulations, and advancements in design practices.
- Strong understanding of electrical theory, power systems, wiring methods, and electrical codes.
- CAD proficiency:
- Expertise in using CAD software for electrical design and drafting, including the ability to create complex layouts and annotations.
