- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs.
- Plan and deliver lessons that accommodate various learning styles and abilities.
- Provide one-on-one or small-group instruction to support students’ academic and social development.
- Assess students’ progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed.
- Collaborate with other teachers, therapists, and parents to ensure a holistic approach to education.
- Use adaptive tools, technology, and materials to enhance the learning experience.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
- Teach and reinforce life skills, social behavior, and self-regulation strategies.
- Monitor and manage classroom behavior, implementing positive reinforcement techniques.
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field (licensure or certification may be required).
- Experience working with children with special needs.
- Knowledge of various teaching strategies and adaptive technologies.
- Strong communication, patience, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
- Understanding of IEP processes and legal requirements for special education.
- Empathy and a commitment to supporting students’ growth and well-being.
