R&D and Grants Writing Intern

Job Overview / Summary Bai Academy is seeking a highly articulate and resourceful R&D and Grants Writing Intern. Your mission is to secure the future of our programs by identifying untapped funding streams. You will be responsible for mapping out the grant landscape, organizing a rigorous application calendar, and drafting the foundational narratives that tell the Bai Academy story to stakeholders and grantors. Duties & Responsibilities Grant Prospecting: Rigorously research government grants, private foundations, and corporate social responsibility (CSR) funding opportunities in Australia and the Philippines. Database Management: Build and maintain a centralized Google Sheets database of funding sources, tracking eligibility, deadlines, and requirements. Calendar Oversight: Create a long-term Grants Calendar to ensure the team never misses a submission window. Drafting & Templating: Develop "Master Grant Templates" and boilerplate content for common application questions (Company Mission, Impact Metrics, Project Goals). Visual Storytelling: Use Canva and PowerPoint to create compelling pitch decks or data visualizations to accompany grant submissions. Qualifications / Requirements Current Student: Preferably pursuing a degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field. Strong Writer: Ability to write persuasively, clearly, and professionally. Research Pro: Comfortable navigating complex government portals and dense eligibility documents. Tools: Proficient in Google Workspace, Canva, and PowerPoint. Competencies / Skills Narrative Building: The ability to turn data into a compelling story of community impact. Attention to Detail: Precision in following strict grant guidelines and word counts. Strategic Thinking: Identifying which grants align best with Bai Academy’s mission to maximize "win" probability. Work Schedule / Location Location: Remote / Hybrid (as per Bai Academy's current policy). Hours: Flexible, typically 15–20 hours per week, depending on academic requirements. Learning Outcomes Technical Writing: Master the art of grant writing, a highly specialized and high-value skill in the non-profit and EdTech sectors. Strategic Planning: Understand how to align organizational goals with external funding priorities. Portfolio Development: Graduate with a portfolio of master templates and successful research dossiers.
